CREATIVITY - KINDNESS - LOVE OF LEARNING
Creativity - My SONshine, Jamon, was very creative! He was always interested in how things worked since he was a child. He would tear down and rebuild anything that I would allow. He was into comics, but would also read novels. He was multifaceted!
Love of Learning - He knew everything about any U.S. President. From George Washington to Barack Obama, who went into office just days before Jamon passed away. As a Black woman, I am glad that my son was able to see someone in office who looked like him. He read A LOT. I once got a call from an officer at his high school who told me that instead of eating lunch, he saw my son in the football field bleachers reading a book. He had a near perfect English portion of his SATs because he read just about everything. He went to college a year early at age 17.
Kindness - Jamon was almost six years older than his sister Javae. Every morning, without fail, he walked her to her school bus and watched her get on. It was not an expectation of mine, it was his way of making her feel safe. He was always protective of and annoyed by her at the same time! She misses her brother.
