Corey Brian Flores 1-Mile Hero Dedication

Running in Honor of Corey Brian Flores
Flores, Corey Brian, age 27 passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 19, 2024. Corey was born in Garland, TX on October 6, 1997, to Chris and Samantha Flores. He is survived by his daughter Layla Flores, parents Chris and Samantha Flores, Brothers Eric, Jordan, Trevor, sister Alyssa and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and brothers/sisters at Cedar Park Fire Department. He was proceeded in death by his grandparents Coy Hewitt, Oscar and Bonnie Vess, Uncle Jeffrey Hewitt, and Cousin Colby Kitts.
Corey graduated from Mabank High School in 2016 and attended Tyler Junior College where he graduated from Fire Academy to become a Firefighter. He was more than just a family member; he was a vibrant soul, a prankster, and a clown whose infectious smile and laughter brought joy to everyone around him. Life was undeniably more enjoyable in his presence. He loved to workout, run, fish, socialize with family and friends, and play and watch sports- especially his favorite MLB team the NY Yankees.
Corey had an unparalleled ability to show up for you when you needed him most, without hesitation. He loved us all deeply, but his greatest love was reserved for his precious baby girl, Layla. As a dedicated father, son, and brother, Corey was also a loyal servant to his community, dedicating his adult life to being a firefighter and serving something greater than himself. He was also an organ donor, and his legacy has and will continue on saving lives.
Although Corey may have left our world, he has not left our hearts. We will take it upon ourselves to carry on his legacy, keeping his spirit alive within us. His life continues to burn brightly, and we will make sure that Layla never forgets her daddy's love.
